NLP and Neuro Plasticity

In this blog I would like to define what NLP and
Neuro Plasticity are
and how they can be linked.

NLP THE NEW TECHNOLOGY OF ACHIEVEMENT

Neuro- The way YOU filter and process your experience through YOUR senses.

Linguistic – The way YOU interpret your experience through language.

Programming – The way YOU code your language and behavior into YOUR own personal program.

A few other definitions:

1. NLP is the study of human excellence. It describes how our thinking produces our behavior and allows us to model excellence and to reproduce that behavior.

2. NLP is attitude and methodology (modeling) that leaves a trail of techniques. Turning concepts into process or techniques.

3. NLP is a set of models and principles used to describe the relationship between mind, language (verbal and non-verbal) and perception. It is an explicit and powerful model of human experience and communication.

4. NLP is like software for our brain. The NLP Model focuses on the process rather then the content.
Modeling the BEST.

Some applications of NLP:

Business

  • Improving Communication Skills

  • Improving Leadership Skills
  • Achieving Peak Performance

Personal

  • Building Self-Confidence

  • Creating Self-Appreciation

  • Creativity Enhancement

  • Creating Rapport

Education

  • Accelerating Learning

Therapy

  • Eliminating Fears and Phobias

Neuro Plasticity

Neuroplasticity: The brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new

neural connections throughout life. Neuroplasticity allows neurons (nerve cells) in the brain to compensate for injury and disease and to adapt their activities and learn in response to new situations or to changes in their environment.

Neuroplasticity is also called brain plasticity or brain malleability.

NLP is also a technique of accelerated learning and personal change which can be scientifically called Neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to 're-wire' itself.

What are some recent scientific studies that support that our brain actually changes as we learn new things?

Learning at our threshold is the key to increase our neuro plasticity.

Following are from PBS broadcasting of Brain Fitness Program Improving brain function is explored by neuroscientist Dr. Michael Merzenich. Narrated by Peter Coyote:

1. Change occurs only when brain is in the mood.

2. Change strengthens neural connections.

3. Neurons that fire together are wires together.

4. Initial changes are just temporary.

5. Brain Plasticity is a two way street.
Change positively when good behaviors are repeated
such as learning new skills or exercising and negatively
when bad behaviors are repeated such as smoking.

6. Memory is crucial for learning.

7. Motivation is a key factor for brain plasticity.

Dr. Michael Merzenich is one of the founders of Posit Science and one of the pioneers to take advantage of our neuro plasticity to put it to use for
accelerating learning by both audio and visual processes.

About Posit Science

Posit Science is the leading provider of clinically validated brain health products and services. The company works with more than 50 scientists from universities such as Yale, Harvard, and the University of California to design and test its computer-based programs. More than 30 published studies show that the company's patented technologies significantly increase brain processing speed, improve memory, and enhance the quality of everyday life.

Brain Fitness Program Classic for auditory processing—speeds up and sharpens the brain’s ability to process and remember sounds.

InSight for visual processing—speeds up and sharpens the brain’s ability to process and remember visual information.

Posit Science also offers a 90-day money back guarantee to all customers.

Program Benefits

If you are mostly interested in improving your ability to keep up with speech, Posit Science recommends the Brain Fitness Program Classic.

It is proven to:
Improve memory by 10 years.
Increase auditory processing speed by 131%—90% of people who complete the program reach processing speeds typical of people under age 40.
Significantly enhance confidence, self-esteem, and overall quality of life—more than three out of four users report benefits in their everyday lives.

If you are mostly interested in activities that require visual capabilities—such as driving and many sports—InSight is the best choice. It is proven to:

Reduce car crash risk by 50%
Help drivers traveling at 50 m.p.h stop 22 feet sooner to avoid collisions
Expand useful field of view by 200 & mdash think of it as peripheral vision

Speed up visual processing speed by 300%
Prolong independence and maintain health-related quality of life
Using both programs will amplify positive effects and help you feel as sharp as possible.

Clinical studies, many funded by the National Institutes of Health, prove that Posit Science brain fitness programs have a wide variety of benefits that help people perform everyday tasks more quickly and accurately.

Don't have to give up driving

A recent article in Technology Review Published by MIT sheds more light on our neural wiring.

“The UCLA researchers took the study a step further by comparing the white matter architecture of identical twins, who share almost all their DNA, and fraternal twins, who share only half. Results showed that the quality of the white matter is highly genetically determined, although the influence of genetics varies by brain area. According to the findings, about 85 percent of the variation in white matter in the parietal lobe, which is involved in mathematics, logic, and visual-spatial skills, can be attributed to genetics. But only about 45 percent of the variation in the temporal lobe, which plays a central role in learning and memory, appears to be inherited.”
